Living Water is a Bible based family of worshippers devoted to experiencing and sharing the love of God, His son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit through our prayers, service, and caring ministries according to Scripture.

Worship, Hospitality, & Missions

From greeting guests to joining the worship team or assisting with tech, there’s a spot on the team just for you.

The Mission

To make every person who walks through our doors feel seen, known, and loved.

What You'll Do

You are the "First Impression" team! You’ll greet guests with a smile, help newcomers find their way to the sanctuary, and assist with our coffee and fellowship setup.

Time Commitment

Sundays, 12:30 PM – 1:15 PM (Pre-service).

The Objective

To lead our congregation into the presence of God through song and praise.
Living Water Lake Charles currently enjoys a “blended” service. Having only one service at this time, we enjoy two types of music, Contemporary and Traditional Hymns.

Contemporary Team

The contemporary team rotates singers based on availability as well as voices needed for a particular song. Jake Snyder is the team leader. The team usually practices on Thursday evening from 6:30-7:30 in the sanctuary, and then again on Sunday right before the service. Contact Jake at (337) 309-5327 if you are interested in joining the team. The team does not always have openings, but will try to work you into the rotation, if possible, at that time. If you play an instrument and would like to see about joining, please reach out as well.

Traditional Choir Music

The traditional choir is led by T-Lew Van Metre. The choir practices in the fellowship hall from 7:00-8:00 on Thursday evening. Most Sunday mornings the choir encourages and leads congregational singing of old and new hymns. On occasions the choir will do a special anthem to accommodate the sermon or a special day in the life of the church. New singers are always welcome, and encouraged, to join the choir. If you are a pianist, we would like to hear from you as we occasionally need a substitute and would love to help you use your talents.

Time Commitment

Time commitments for both groups involve about an hour on Thursday evenings and 30-45 minutes immediately prior to the 1:00 service.

Singing His Praise

The Mission

To ensure the Word is heard and seen clearly, both in the room and online.

What You'll Do

This "behind-the-scenes" team handles the soundboard, runs the lyric slides, and manages our livestream. No professional experience is required—we are happy to train anyone with a willing heart and a comfort level with technology!

Time Commitment

Sundays, 12:15 PM – 2:15 PM.

Tech Stations

The Mission

To plant seeds of faith in our youngest disciples in a safe and fun environment.

What You'll Do

You’ll assist with our children’s lessons, lead simple crafts, or help care for toddlers in the nursery. Your presence allows parents to focus on the service while their children learn that church is a place of joy. (Note: Background check required for this team).

Time Commitment

Sundays during the 1:00 PM service (Rotation-based).

The Mission

To offer the Living Water of Christ to all who thirst.

What We Do

Our Mission Team leader is Dr. Ken Parks, assisted by co-leader Helen Page. They have led missions to Potrerillos for several years.
The mission usually includes dental, medical, children’s programs, construction projects, and for the last 2 years has dispensed eyeglasses.
The mission is open to everyone, with roles ranging from check-in and support for the medical and dental teams to pharmacy help, children’s activities, and construction projects.
Becas con Bendiciones (Scholarships with Blessings) is a local Honduran program that provides funding for children attending school. A sponsorship of $120 per year provides 2 full school uniforms with leather shoes, PE uniform and tennis shoes, School supplies and a backpack, as well as a Bible. It also covers registration and provides tutoring and Bus fare when necessary. Children must maintain a 75% average to stay in the program through High School. Local church leaders screen applicants and verify need before enrolling a child in the program. Many of our team members as well as church members support children through this program.

Time Commitment

There are usually 4-5 meetings lasting 1-2 hours. These are held to share information, organize groups, fill out required forms, and get to know other team members. The trip itself is Saturday to Saturday and usually flies out of Lake Charles with about 24 members.

The Mission

To offer the Living Water of Christ to all who thirst.

What You'll Do

Local missional activities have involved assistance with disaster recovery, MD Anderson Kick Cancer to the Curb Boot-Walk, Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes, Teacher Gift Cards, prepared meals for World Changers Youth Ministry, ABC Pregnancy Center, School Age Mothers, and Sleep in Heavenly Peace,.
Sleep in Heavenly Peace is an ongoing ministry for the parish. We have provided labor to make bed parts and supplied teams that have delivered and assembled beds to families so that “no kid sleeps on the floor in our town.”
The Mission team is also responsible for church gatherings such as the Annual Spring Fling and Fall Fest gatherings.

Time Commitment

The mission team typically meets quarterly or more often if needed. Meeting notices will be sent out via church email. Meetings usually last 1-1.5 hours to review past performance and identify areas where service is needed. Organization of projects, schedules, and any new projects or recommendations are identified at this time. Time involved in service projects vary widely depending on the task being performed.
Everyone is invited to attend the mission team meetings. New ideas or areas we can serve to support the community are welcomed.
